Introductory Courses

Open water diver: WHAT TO EXPECT: Your scuba program will be based on your progress on the NAUI E-learning online course, classroom lectures and evaluations, pool skin diving skills, scuba skills, equipment handling and confined water evaluations. Course includes eLearning program, class and pool, scuba equipment, except for personal mask, fins snorkel, boots, gloves required for sessions. Advanced Diver and Wreck Diver (Introduction to wreck diving!). The area's best introduction to ocean wreck diving on exciting New Jersey Wrecks! Get insight on shipwreck history, equipment handling and expedition planning from experienced sources and veteran wreck divers. Includes lectures, confined water training, eLearning Wreck Diver or Advanced, all tour guides. Dive fees and rentals are additional. Pool practical and tour guide mentoring on all dives.

Underwater Hunting & Collecting 


Description: This course is to provide the diver with the skills and knowledge necessary to spearfish, take game and collect specimens while minimizing the diving risks of such activities. Includes a tour guide to capture your dinner. (May be for skin or scuba divers.)

Safe Diver Training

 Advanced Rescue Scuba Diver. Learn how to manage risks and effectively handle limited in-water problems and diving emergencies, how to assist and transport divers, and how to perform surface rescues and rescues from depth involving both boat and shore-based skin and scuba divers. 

Description: This is a certification course for certified scuba divers who desire to assume greater rescue capabilities during diving activities. The training emphasizes accident supervision and management with practical applications in open water. This course is designed specifically to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to help prevent diving accidents, recognize life threatening diving situations, perform or supervise in-water rescues, manage rescue operations and provide post-rescue aid.

First aid/ CPR/ O2 Provider Class, sign up for individual or group certifications. This course represents entry level training designed to educate the general diving (and qualified non-diving) public in recognizing possible dive related injuries and providing emergency oxygen first aid while activating the local emergency medical services (EMS) and/or arranging for evacuation to the nearest available medical facility. Take a step toward emergency preparedness and meet Rescue Diver prerequisites with this class.  The combination course gives you the confidence to respond to medical emergencies -- not just in the diving world, but in your everyday world with your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers too. Leadership requirement for Advanced Rescue, Divemaster and Ocean Operators of Dive Vessels.

Search and Recovery Diver. This course is to provide the diver with the skills and knowledge to do those underwater tasks commonly needed by the experienced recreational diver and to minimize the risks of such tasks while searching for and recovering items that have been lost in the aquatic environment. Exercises and skills are consistent for use for Fire and Rescue Team application.

Master Scuba Diver.  The course is a continuing education certification course for divers who wish to increase their understanding and enjoyment of diving. Emphasis is on student participation and practical application of knowledge in open water after a classroom discussion of subjects. This course is an excellent progression toward NAUI Leadership roles. Some subject areas are a review and expansion of material from previous courses. Advanced Divers certified with Rescue diver may achieve the certification by completion of the required watermanship testing in swimming, skindiving, and scuba under the instructor supervision.

Divemaster. The NAUI Divemaster rating is the highest NAUI leadership level certification except for instructor. The program is designed to train experienced and knowledgeable divers to organize and conduct enjoyable open water dives for certified divers. If all other prerequisites are met, a current NAUI Divemaster is qualified to enter a NAUI Instructor Training Course (ITC).  Prerequisites and recommendations must be fulfilled prior to registration.

Technical Dive Programs 


Advanced Nitrox Course qualifies divers to use enriched air nitrox from EAN 21 through EAN 100 to a depth of 40 meters /130 feet during dives hat do not require staged decompression. This can be considered the foundation of your technical diving career. and....

Decompression Procedures. The TDI Decompression Procedures course prepares you for planned staged decompression diving. With a maximum operating depth of 45m/150 feet, this course is your first step beyond the normal sport diving limits. Your TDI Instructor will provide you with valuable information and skills, among the topics covered are Kit set-up, Equipment requirements, Decompression techniques, Decompression breathing gases, Gas management, & Contingency planning. The TDI Decompression Procedures course combined with the TDI Advanced Nitrox course form the foundation of all other technical courses. After these two courses and some additional experience, the stage has been set for you to move onto additional technical levels.

$1500.00 for both including eLearning, class and practical time. Dives are additional.

Freediver

Description: This is the entry-level certification course. Freediving skills and techniques are practiced with the program also encompassing static and dynamic apnea. The objective of this course is to train individuals in the benefits, skills, techniques and safety & problem management for entry level Freediving to a depth of 20m / 66', with basic level static apnea development of 1:30 at a minimum and an optional dynamic apnea development of 25m / 82 feet horizontal distance.

We can get you back in the swim!

 If you are already certified, but have not dived in a couple years, Atlantic Divers can reevaluate your skills and give you a refresher course to get you back in the water.  You must show proof of certification and have dived within the past 3 years. Start today. Cost: $400.00 includes evaluations and a tour guide on one two open water dives.
